A touch of back story.

I believe I have taken life by the horns in just the last 3 yrs. Our family seemed to be in the perfect place, time, and setup. Our family lived in a quiet neighborhood, with good neighbors. My husband and I doing the jobs we loved. Our marriage at a sweet spot of loving interaction, like newlyweds. Our two sons growing happy and healthy. Relaxing summer evenings turned to festive warm winters.

Then the stress crept in and little by little our lives began changing. At the time, it was very difficult to see any positives in the changes and looking back some of the changes continue to be undesirable.  My husbands parents needing assistance with house arrangements gave way to ourselves needing to find new living arrangements also.

Life stress: 2, our family: 0

That was also the time we found out that our family size would be expanding. 😲😖 Really, Life? Right now?  Now dont get me wrong, having a baby is great news. However when you are trying not to have one, the news of one goes against your objectives. It can feel like a step in the wrong direction.

Fast forward three years to a 12 yr old, a 9 yr  old and a 3 yr old bound to keep up with her brothers even if it costs a broken bone or two. Our daughter, who was born six weeks early has had her fair share thus far. Her first six months, aside from being born early, was rather “normal.” Then at six months, off to physical therapy for Hypotonia. Therapy sessions started out weekly, then bimonthly, and ending with monthly for about 8 months. When she was 9 months, anaphylactic reaction to string cheese sending us to the emergency room. Follow up testing included egg also. Can we say Vegan with a side of meat? Confused many people.

The waters calmed for about a year. Then she gave climbing a try, only to have her head pull over the rail of her crib and fracturing her collar bone. Oh my, here we go. And the latest injury to date, happened just 2 months ago with a severe crush injury to her finger sacrificing her fingernail. The jury is still out on how the nail will grow out.

However, on a more hopeful note. We are on our second year of homeschooling.  It feels like a 60/40 year. Like I have about 60% of it figured out. The 40%…uh…I did say I was teaching kids,  right? A very active, rambunctious, and stubborn 9 yr old and 12yr old testing his teen attitude. One of which is thought to be on the Autism spectrum?  So, yeah…homeschooling is going good.

The beginning scoop…

Hello, Everyone.

This is my first blog. I am starting it for a place to take note of the ups and downs of learning homeschooling and juggling my 3 monkeys. I have 3 very active little ones.  I am looking forward to sharing all the antics as we go. I also hope to inspire, support, or connect.
